Walt:write a recount about making popcorn

‍Wow!‍ What a fantastic time we had making popcorn in room 1c. First we tuned the pan on and poured the popcorn seeds in the pan. Secondly we waited until the popcorn had stopped popping. When the popcorn sopped popping we took the lid off and poured the popcorn in a bowl

sloth facts

Sloths live in tropical forests and are related to armadillos and anteaters. Sloths hang upside-down from trees they are harmed by hawks and cats. sloths are clumsy on land but very good swimmers. They are so slow algae grows on them like the trees around it. They are found of fruit and leaves they are called ai in latin america {pronounced "eye"}. They have a roundish head, sad-looking eyes, tiny ears and stubby tails.

The Tuatara

The tuatara belongs to the same family as its ancestors and the family is called sphenodontia. Their ancestors are the dinosaurs.

The tuatara has a greenish-brown body and they have a crest that goes head to back. The babies have a third eye on top of their head but no one in the world knows why?!

They eat seabird eggs and insects. The babies aren’t safe because the adults eat them.

They move quickly so their enemies can’t see them.

They are harmed by: cats, rats and adult tuatara themselves.

Their size: the males are bigger than the females. Adults grow to about two feet long and weigh around two pounds.

W e need to take care of them because they are the last of their kind and they need loving.

If we never knew about tuatara they would never exist in New Zealand.

Tuataras are ancient because they can live up to 100 years, if they don’t get eaten!

They are special to New Zealand and even other people who live in other countries.

Tuataras are incredible!

Was that a koala?

Koalas are mammals that live in Australia.

Koalas look like teddy bears. They have soft, thick, fur, their belly fur is white and their back fur is grey or brown. They've got large hairless noses and they've got padded bottoms.

They live in eucalyptus trees and they eat eucalyptus leaves.

Some interesting facts are:

Female koalas have pouches.

They poo on their tree to mark their territory!

They are amazing and interesting animals.

My favourite thing at school this week was making awesome mothers day cards because all the parts were easy.

My spectacular mum

Have you ever met my mum, Annette? She is the most incredible mum in the whole entire world. Her hair is blackish-brown, her eyes are hazel like leaves; her skin is a nice tan colour. She is beautiful inside and out as well with her kindness. She makes the best choc chips and peppermint slice. I love my mum with all my heart.

Matariki
Matariki is the maori new year. There are seven stars A.K.A [means Also Known As] the seven sisters. Matariki is the maori name for cluster of stars. Matariki literally means "eyes of god"or"little eyes". Matariki was a time to remember the people who died in the last year. This is a picture of the seven sisters. I got this picture from an encyclopedia.[pronounced "en-cy-clo-pede-a"].
